El poder de intercesión de San José

Desde toda la eternidad, cuando la Encarnación del Verbo fue determinada por la Santísima Trinidad, Dios Padre quiso que la llegada de su Hijo al mundo fuese revestida con la suprema pulcritud que conviene a un Dios.

El Señor buscó un hombre según su corazón.

A pesar de los aspectos de pobreza y humildad con los cuales habría de mostrarse, Él debería nacer de una Virgen concebida sin pecado original, reuniendo en sí las alegrías de la maternidad y la flor de la virginidad.

Pero era indispensable la presencia de alguien capaz de asumir la figura de padre delante el Verbo de Dios hecho hombre. Para eso, bien podemos aplicar las palabras dichas por la Escritura sobre el Rey David:

«El señor buscó un hombre según su corazón». Y este hombre fue San José.

Grandeza de alma mayor que la de los Antiguos Patriarcas.

Para formarnos una idea de quién fue San José, precisamos considerar que él fue esposo de Nuestra Señora y padre adoptivo del niño Jesús.

El esposo debe ser proporcional a la esposa. Ahora, ¿quién es Nuestra Señora? Ella es, de lejos, la más perfecta de todas las criaturas, la obra-prima del Altísimo.

Si sumamos las virtudes de todos los ángeles, de todos los santos y todos los hombres hasta el fin del mundo, no tendremos siquiera una pálida idea de la sublime perfección de la Madre de Dios.

El hombre escogido para ser el esposo de esa excelsa criatura debía poseer una virtud mayor que la de los antiguos patriarcas.

¡Es la grandeza de alma que debía tener el Esposo de la Madre de Dios!

Imagen de Dios Padre a los ojos del Hijo de Dios

¡Su misión, como padre del Niño Jesús, consistió en ser la imagen de Dios Padre a los ojos del propio Hijo de Dios! En la simplicidad de la vida cotidiana, San José ejercía como jefe de la Sagrada Familia, una verdadera autoridad sobre el Hijo de Dios.

¿Quién respondería a las preguntas de Dios? Esta gracia solo fue concedida a San José, varón humilde y puro.

Imaginemos el Niño Jesús parado delante de él e indagando cómo hacer tal cosa. ¡Y San José, mera criatura, consciente de que es Dios quien pregunta, da el consejo!

Consideremos a San José como modelo de castidad y de fuerza; un varón de santidad inimaginable, en el cual Dios reunió, como en un sol, todo cuanto los demás santos juntos tienen de luz y esplendor.

Todas las glorias se acumularon en este varón incomparable.

¡Id a José!

Hubo, también, en el Antiguo Testamento un personaje llamado José, hijo del Patriarca Jacob que llegó a ser vice-rey de Egipto.

En tiempos de hambre, el Faraón mandaba a los egipcios dirigirse al sabio José para que él distribuyese los alimentos, diciéndoles: ¡»Id a José»!

De la misma manera, podemos oír la voz de Dios que nos dice durante nuestras dificultades: ¡»Id a José»!

Así como José fue vice-rey de Egipto y el más importante del reino después del Faraón, Dios constituyó a San José, vice-rey de la Iglesia, quiere decir, señor y cabeza de su casa, custodio y administrador de todos sus bienes.

¿Quién podrá calcular el poder de intercesión de San José junto a María Santísima y a su Divino Hijo? Su patrocinio y poder de intercesión son superiores a los de todos los demás santos, sin duda alguna.

San José todo puede delante del Divino Redentor.

Ciertamente, Jesús, que le fue sumiso durante su vida terrena, seguirá siéndole obediente por toda la eternidad…

¡Imploremos, pues, siempre, su poderosa intercesión!
